How a Simple Zoom Call Changed My Life

It was during a routine Zoom call with my mentor when the realisation hit me like a tidal wave. This wasn’t just a hobby or a side project; it was a calling. An unshakeable feeling, right down to the very last cell in my body, that I had to share my passion for art and entertaining with the world. I had no idea, in that moment, how much my life was about to change—forever.
How it began...
At the time, I was working full-time at a hospital and balancing the joys and challenges of being a new mum. Life was busy, but something was missing. My love for creating had always been there—whether it was drawing, painting, or digital art. Then in 2017, a casual conversation with colleagues about my art opened the door to something new: resin art. Curious, I signed up for a resin art class, and from the very first moment, I was hooked.
The moment everything changed
But it wasn’t until that Zoom call, years later, that I realised what resin art could truly mean for me. It wasn’t just a creative outlet anymore; it became the way I could connect with others and help people create lasting memories. Growing up in a bustling home filled with love and family—my parents, sister, Nanna, and Pop all under one roof—I learned the value of togetherness and connection. That’s exactly what I want my resin pieces to bring to others.
From cheeseboards to serving trays, my goal is to create functional art that can be enjoyed in gatherings with family and friends. Since that fateful Zoom call, my life has taken an unexpected and exciting turn. I’ve transitioned from being a full-time hospital worker to a full-time mum, part-time hospital worker, and full-time artist. It hasn’t always been easy juggling those roles, but every challenge has been worth it to follow this passion. Each piece I create is a reflection of the values I hold dear: connection, safety, and joy.
